Hey Laura - I'll be there too and following your tweets! Would be very interested in joining an unofficial tweetup, especially one centered around food. :)

You and me both! This weekend I am planning on investigating dining options, very much looking forward to a couple of nice meals. I'll keep an eye out for your Twitter diner but we should try to coordinate to at least grab a coffee, I'd love to catch up with you.

thanks laura for helping to understand how one would use annotations. Not being a big reader myself, I wasn't sure the use cases for them. Very interesting post!

The annotation function is great; what would be REALLY great is if you could add annotations to all resources, or if I could annotate my copy of a book in my Kindle or Nook or what have you, and have those annotations automatically shared in the course module.

Very interesting blog Laura!

I think you would be very interested in checking out the social reading feature that our startup has introduced to our platform iversity.

It fits perfectly with your concerns for collaboration in research, as you mentioned above!

You can access an open course and see it for yourself here: http://www.iversity.org/courses/2719#materials

Get back to me with any insights and suggestions! Hope you enjoy it!

Don’t feel bad about not having read some of the classics, you still have plenty of time.
Nobody will regret not having read “Moby Dick” or “War and Peace” once they’re dead. But when you are 80 and alive and there is nothing good left to be read, you might regret having rushed through all these volumes earlier.
Take your time throughout life with good books: http://andreasmoser.wordpress.com/2011/10/15/take-your-time-with-good-books/
